France built a prototype of a stealth version of the AMX-30 several years ago, but did not pursue the project. The tank was covered with two layers of Radar Absorbing Materials, with cold air pumped between them to reduce the thermal signature. For cleaner outside lines and a lower radar signature, the traditional external storage seen on almost every tank is eliminated.--Stephen V Cole
