China is building a new fleet oiler, a 22,000 ton vessel with a helicopter platform aft and two 37mm guns. The ship will probably to be used to refuel, at sea, Chinas growing fleet of Russian and Chinese built long range destroyers. The Similan class oiler will apparently be ready for service next year.
