Information Warfare: Seeing is Disbelieving

Archives

September 6, 2006: Islamic terrorists take advantage of their followers having access to the Internet, and not being able to use a search engine to find the truth. Case in point is an Iran based website run by Hizbollah, which is currently featuring a picture of what is described as the Israeli corvette Hanit being hit by a C-802 anti-ship missile on July 14th, 2006. All that fiery red stuff on http://moqavemat.ir/?lang=fa&state=showbody_pic&row_id=2110 is offered as photographic evidence of the C-802 hitting the Israeli ship. However, use Google to follow this incident and you'll find ample evidence that the Hanit was not on the receiving end of such a spectacular explosion. No matter, most Hizbollah followers don't speak English, or any other language common on the web, and no nothing of Google or much beyond what Hizbollah feeds them. The Internet is not always a liberating technology.
