The US Court of Federal Claims has ruled that more than 1,000 white male Army officers were unfairly forced into retirement during the military cutbacks of the early 90s due to the rule that favored minorities and women for retention. In a similar case, the Air Force agreed to pay 83 colonels forced to retire in 1992 a settlement of more than $100,000 each.-Stephen V Cole
