NASA may mothball the shuttle Columbia. The oldest of the shuttles, Columbia is heavier than the others and cannot be used for missions to the International Space Station. NASA had wanted to use Columbia for commercial launches to produce revenue, but customers could not be found. Even if not mothballed, Columbia may be pulled out of the normal rotation and used only when there is a mission it could perform.--Stephen V Cole
