Evidence has emerged (from electronic eavesdropping and agents on the ground) that bin Laden may be alive and hiding out among friendly (or well paid) tribes along the Pakistani border. Searching this area is tricky, as the tribes are hostile to outsiders, partly on general principal, partly to hide the smuggling and drug trade activities that make the region relatively affluent. British and American commandoes have formed a special, 40 man, unit to snatch bin Laden when, and if, he is located. 

About a third (some two dozen men) of the key Taliban and al Qaeda leadership have been killed or captured so far. Generous rewards and persistent intelligence work are slowly bringing these guys in.

Two 107mm rockets were fired at the U.S./Canadian force at Kandahar airport. The rockets missed, but Canadian troops that rushed out to where the rockets were launched from, fired on two fleeing trucks (which were lost in the darkness) and found five more rockets set up to be fired. This is the first attack since February 13th.
