Taliban continue to come across the Pakistan border, make (largely futile) attacks on civilians or American bases, and flee back across the border. The Afghan government troops and American soldiers play a game of cat and mouse trying to nail the Taliban before they can get across the border. While the Pakistani army is now operating against the Taliban on their side of the border, the Pakistanis are going after specific villages to arrest known Taliban or al Qaeda members.
