European NATO nations have discovered that they do not have sufficient equipment, helicopters and specialist troops to expand their 5,700 man force in Afghanistan. Many European NATO troops cannot, by local laws, be sent outside of Europe. European nations don't have the kind of helicopter and heavy transport aircraft needed to support operations in an out-of-the-way place like Afghanistan.
