Two roadside bombs went off in the south. One, directed at  passing American vehicles, did no damage. But the other one killed two policemen. Roadside bombs, modeled after those so widely used in Iraq, have become more popular in Afghanistan. However, there are far fewer roadside bombs used in Afghanistan, largely because there are fewer raw materials to make the bombs, and far fewer terrorists to make them.
