Some 400 FARC rebels attacked Granada, 200 kilometers northwest of the capital. At least 29 civilians were killed, 200 homes were destroyed and 120 others damaged. The main focus of the attack was the local police station, and three police officers were among the dead. FARC targeted the town because AUC troops were operating out of the town.
