Enthusiasm is growing in Congress to provide Colombia more support in it's battle with FARC and other rebels. Most of the military aid provided so far is only for fighting drug gangs. But it's been an open secret for years that FARC is deep into the drug business. By officially recognizing that, US anti-drug aid could be used against FARC without any restrictions.
