Bangladeshi border guards advanced a hundred meters into India and seized an Indian border post on the Indian-Bangladesh border. Border guards from both sides rushed to the area. The ensuing fighting left sixteen Indian and three Bangladesh troops dead. Apparently Bangladesh civilans were also involved. Apparently the Bangladeshi troops were acting on their own and the Bangladesh government has promised to conduct an investigation and punish those responsible. There was apparently some long standing ill will between border guards in the area. Some of the Indian troops were tortured and others executed. In Kashmir, a bomb went off, killing one civilian and wounding three. Elsewhere in Kashmir, eleven rebels surrendered with their weapons.
