The Islamic radical Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) party is locking horns with the government and attempting to shut down Jacobabad air base (where US troops are based.) The Islamic radicals have vowed to force out any American troops out of the country. So far, they have not been able to generate widespread support. The government is determined to thwart any plans to block the Jacobabad air base. In Kashmir, rebels attacked an Indian air base. Four rebels, an Indian soldier and a civilian were killed, but no damage was done to the base.
