May 31, 2006: To date (since the fall of the Afghan Taliban government in late 2001), Pakistan has arrested over a thousand Islamic terrorist suspects. These included many foreigners ( 70 Algerians, 86 Saudi Arabians, 20 Moroccans, 22 from the United Arab Emirates, 11 Libyans, 7 Kuwaitis, 20 Egyptians, 28 Indonesians, 18 Malaysians, and 36 others from Asian nations.) There were also five Americans, two Australians and 11 British, plus some from France and Germany as well, who were arrested. The official count of those arrested is only 660, but media reports indicate over 1,000.

May 30, 2006: An Islamic conservative member of the Pakistani legislature has openly called for Pakistanis to support the Taliban attempt to take over in Afghanistan.

May 28, 2006: In Pakistani Baluchistan, tribal rebels fired some 30 rockets at government targets in the Baluchistan capital. One person was killed. Police and troops responded by making over a hundred arrests, including some men who were caught fleeing areas where the rockets were launched from.

May 27, 2006: Along the Pakistan Afghan border, well financed Taliban gunmen continue to elude police and soldiers. The Taliban terrorize tribesmen who are not allied with the Taliban, and kill government officials when they can.

May 25, 2006: Pakistan arrested a former head of the Afghan secret police, and five other Afghans, in a Afghan refugee camps in Baluchistan. The Afghans were caught with a large quantity of money, believed to me for supporting Baluchi rebels.
