Some 95 kilometers northwest of the capital, rebels attacked a convoy of five timber company trucks, killing a number of people. The rebels made off with one truck and destroyed two others. The other two trucks escaped with survivors. The timber companies involved are owned by friends and relatives of president Charles Taylor. Two soldiers and an army general with the convoy were wounded. The export of lumber is one of the more lucrative activities in the country.
