Police captured a senior Abu Sayyaf intelligence official on Jolo. Another Abu Sayyaf member surrendered elsewhere on Jolo. Increasingly, the rewards offered for Abu Sayyaf members and offers of amnesty, plus the large number of troops and police on Jolo and Basilan has caused more rebels to surrender, or get caught. So far, 90 Abu Sayyaf members (or suspected members) have been captured. Of that group, 46 have been charged with a crime and the rest are still being interrogated.
