  Negotiations are underway with Mexico to build a helicopter assembly in Mexico. There are already 56 Russian helicopters serving in the Mexican army and navy. Mexico prefers the Russian helicopters because they are cheaper, and easier to maintain, than those from the U.S. and Europe. Mexico is a typical customer for Russian aircraft, and Russia hopes to sell other military equipment to Mexico as well.
