The Somali government has asked the African Union and the UN to supply 20,000 peacekeepers to help restore order, and make it possible for foreign aid organizations to return to the country. However, there is suspicion that newly selected interim president  Abdullahi Yusuf is merely another dictator, backed by Ethiopia (who wants someone with a strong hand running Somalia, in order to keep things quiet there, at any cost).
