An earthquake in western Indonesia that sent a tidal wave across the Indian ocean and hit northern Somalia with ten foot waves and severe flooding. Up to 150 people were killed and over 50,000 were left homeless when their coastal villages were flooded. Most of the damage was in the breakaway northern area of Puntland.
