Teenage rebel troops are violating the cease fire by crossing the truce lines in uniform and carrying weapons. The truce allowed soldiers from either side to cross the lines if they were out of uniform and unarmed (to visit family members or whatever.) It's unknown why one large group (over 200) of these kids crossed the lines. They might just be showing off, as most of them are 16 or younger (and, according to the UN, not supposed to be soldiers.) Other individual rebels, arrested, or threatened with arrest, by police for various infractions, are threatening to use their cyanide capsules to  kill themselves if questioned by police. It is feared that any of these situations could turn to violence and restart the fighting. Meanwhile, rebel and government representatives plan to begin peace negotiations in Thailand within the next month or so. There is fear that the current truce will turn out like the one in 1995. Back then, the peace talks and truce lasted a hundred days before the rebels began fighting again.
