June 1, 2006: The LTTE has increased ethnic cleansing activities in eastern Sri Lanka. Sinhalese and Moslem villager have been warned by LTTE commanders to leave, or die.

May 31, 2006: In the north, army and LTTE artillery began firing at each other. This, more than anything else, marks the end of the ceasefire, and resumption of the war. The LTTE says their troops have advanced on army positions, and driven soldiers back. The army denies this.

May 30, 2006: In eastern Sri Lanka, LTTE ethnic cleaning operations included the murder of 13 Sinhalese villagers. This was done to encourage more Sinhalese to leave what the LTTE considers Tamil territory.

May 29, 2006: The European Union ban on the LTTE officially went into effect, despite LTTE threats that they would resume the war of the ban was enforced. Now the government is trying to get Moslem nations to ban the LTTE. This may succeed, as the LTTE has been threatening and killing Moslems as part of its ethnic cleansing operations.

May 28, 2006: In the northwest, LTTE landmines killed six tourists and their guide in a nature park.

May 25, 2006: In the east, an LTTE ambush killed four policemen.
