United Nations aid agencies decided to expand their activities in northern and eastern Uganda, after a recent visit by senior UN relief officials found a dramatic increase in the area's humanitarian problems. The number of internally displaced people in the north has risen from 600,000 to more than 1.3 million. 

Meanwhile, the LRA raided another village 380 kilometers north of the capital Kampala. - Adam Geibel
