British police arrested Mohammed Abdullah Azam and accused him of using the Internet to collect information for planned terrorist attacks. The police say they also seized substantial evidence to back up the charge. There has been substantial suspected terrorist activity on the Internet in the past year, including many hacking attacks traceable to Middle Eastern and Moslem nations. But some of the activity has also been coming from North America and Europe. Anti-terrorism efforts are being directed at the possibility that a group of skilled Internet programmers might get together and put together a truly dangerous attack using the Internet.
