Since the fighting began on September 28, 2000, 465 have died (including 70 Israelis, 13 Israeli Arabs, one German and 381 Palestinians.) Eight Israelis (one Jewish, seven Arabs) were arrested for running a gunrunning operation that supplied weapons to Palestinians. Israeli commandoes sneaked into Palestinian territory and seized three members of Force 17.  Israeli settlers blew up three Arab shops in Hebron, injuring several Israeli soldiers. The 400 Israeli settlers in  Hebron have become increasingly violent in response to Palestinian attacks.
